Being Me (Inside Out Trilogy, #2)

Release Day: June 11, 2013

The sexy second installment in the Inside Out erotic romance trilogy, following If I Were You—in the seductive tradition ofFifty Shades of Grey

Fascinated by the dark fantasies in the journals she’s discovered, and the two men who have now found a place in her life, Sara McMillan finds herself torn between her new life and her past. Now, more than ever, Sara identifies with the lost journal writer, Rebecca, and is certain that something sinister has happened.

In the arms of the sexy, tormented artist Chris Merit, Sara seeks answers about Rebecca and ends up discovering things about herself she never knew existed. Chris forces Sara to reconsider who she is and what she truly wants from life, but not before his dark desires threaten to tear them apart. Her boss, Mark Compton, offers her the shelter to understand just what those needs mean to her, and what they might have meant to Rebecca, but can she trust him to lead her to a final conclusion to Rebecca’s story?

Star Rating: 4.5 out of 5

This will be a SPOILER FREE review, so it may be short and to the point since I don't want anyone to have this roller coaster ride of a book ruined.  (I have written and deleted this post a few times not sure what to say without saying too much or too little...  I am now way over-thinking everything, this book has me so tied up!)

Being Me picks up right where If I Were You left off (which was an amazing cliffhanger) and the story takes right off.  Unlike most second books in trilogies, this book isn't filler, it is CHOCK full of answers and new twists and turns that will leave you with your mouth hanging open.  Sara is still on a mission to find out what happened to Rebecca and what was going on in her life before she disappeared.  While  loving the new direction her life is going Sara is starting to realize that her life is becoming Rebecca's and she is getting the lines blurred between her life now and Rebecca's journal entries  (make sure you read Rebecca's Lost Journals 1 through 4 before this book, you don't have to, but you SHOULD).

Sara and Chris's tumultuous relationship really steps up in Being Me.  Both characters are working things out from their individual pasts, and in their relationship.  They are learning how to be with each other after information from both their pasts comes to the surface and while at times this is frustrating and angst ridden it is also amazingly written.

Lisa Renee Jones writes such GREAT characters, they are so real and broken that you can actually understand why they do the messed things they do but at the same time you are constantly being surprised by their actions.  All the characters from the first book come back into play during Being Me (which, I love) but my favorite in the cast of characters is Mark.  Mark is still Mark, but the reader gets to see a bit more into him during this story that really makes you crave his story.  UGH!!  I can't say much here but trust me the secondary characters in this book REALLY throw you for loops this time around.

Being Me lived up to my expectations and after how much I loved If I Were You, they were really high.  As a reader (not just a blogger) I don't want to say too much about this story but I will say this:  You get some ANSWERS in Being Me (thank goodness).  Of course you don't get all the answers and you are still left with questions and concerns about what is going to happen next, but I have no doubt that Ms. Jones will reveal all in September when book 3 comes out.  (please I hope so!!).  Will this book leave you hanging with an epic cliffhanger that will destroy the next three books you try to read after this?  Not really, this was a baby cliffhanger, with enough intrigue to make you want more book soon, but not so bad as you cry in frustration because now you have to wait 4 months to get your answers in book 3.

This is a FANTASTIC series, if you have not picked up If I Were You and Rebecca's Lost Journals DO IT!!  (besides this review won't make ANY sense without reading the first book at least) This is a definite MUST READ series for me and Lisa Renee Jones is becoming an instant buy author for me.  Now I will just sit in my chair wishing and waiting for Revealing Us to drop into my Kindle magically ;) (Hey, a girl can dream)

**Once you read the books and want to chat about it with someone, feel free to get in touch!  I am dying to talk about these books**
