Then, one day, I meet a man. He's in my club, front and center. He watches me do my routine, and his gaze is full of hunger. Not the kind of desire I'm used to though. It's something different. Something hotter, deeper, and more possessive. I know who he is; of course I do. Everyone knows who Dawson Kellor is. He's People Magazine's Sexiest Man alive. He's the hottest actor in Hollywood. He's the man hand-picked for the role of Rhett Butler in the long-awaited remake of Gone With the Wind.
He's the kind of man who can have any woman in the entire world with a mere crook of his finger. So what's he doing looking at me like he has to have me? And how do I resist him when he looks at me with those intoxicating, changeable, quicksilver eyes?
I'm a virgin, and he's an American icon of male sexuality. I'm a stripper, and he's a man used to getting anything and everything he wants. And he wants me. I know I should say no, I know he's the worst kind of player…but what my mind knows, my body and my heart may not.
And then things get complicated.

There is just something special about Jasinda Wilder's writing, something almost magical happens when you pick up one of her books and unless you have read some of her writing before it is really hard to explain why it is so damn good. Stripped was no exception, you are getting a great story that was beautifully written, full of emotion and has you falling in love with some incredible characters. Grey and Dawson were quite entertaining to read; a stripper and a Hollywood actor with combustible chemistry, do I need to say more?
Grey is a young woman who has lived a pretty sheltered life but refuses to change what she wants out of life and is strong enough to walk away from all she has known to go after her dreams. I really enjoyed her character, Jasinda does a fantastic job letting Grey's story flow naturally, giving the reader a good insight in what her life is like, what she wants out of life and makes it easy to empathize with her situation and help you under the choices she had to make. Grey was a very layered character and it was fascinating watching her grow, accept and embrace who she is.
Dawson, is not the character you think he is going to be. I was assuming he would be the arrogant playboy, who is rude, selfish and demanding and he isn't (mostly). His character has passion, understanding and is willing to fight for what he wants, refusing to give up when things get too real or too hard. Dawson doesn't play games with Grey, doesn't have tantrums, he was real and always there for her and I LOVED that! I loved that he isn't a let-me-get-drunk-and-pout-about-not-getting-what-I-want type of guy, he is a man of action.
Stripped was set up interestingly, almost like you were reading the story in parts. You get to read through two years of Grey's life, then you read up until she meets Dawson. You get to know how Grey and Dawson meet, get together and (spoiler) fall for each other. THEN the book jumps months (maybe a year?) and you get to read what I feel was an extended epilogue, and learn what Dawson and Grey are doing later in their relationship. As much I loved seeing all this, I really would have liked to get more of Dawson and Grey learning how to be together. It almost felt like there was a chapter missing the jump was so unexpected.
Regardless of that one quirk, this book was amazing! I misted up, I laughed, I wanted to reach in and hug these characters. I really, really hope we get to see what these two are up to in later books. I am not ready to let go of Grey and Dawson, the writing is so good that I could have read for chapters and chapters and it never would be enough.
Jasinda Wilder is one of my favorite MUST BUY authors and she should be one of yours too. 1-click Stripped today so you can experience Dawson and Grey's beautiful story yourself.
