STILL HUMAN by Kerry Heavens: Author Interview & Giveaway

STILL HUMAN (Just Human #2)

by: Kerry Heavens

Danny and Liv are back...

Danny loves Liv. He knows he loves her more than she loves him because she ran without a word when she saw their future mapped out before her. He knows he will never love anyone like he loved her and this time he doesn’t think he can move on.

Liv loves Danny. She knows she loves him more than he loves her because he broke her heart in the worst possible way, right when things were falling into place. She knows she will never love anyone like she loves him and this time she doesn’t think she can move on.

They needed a second chance because they just weren’t ready for their first, but when events changed everything between them, they discovered they were just human after all. Now Liv and Danny have to find a way to survive being hurt by each other.

They doubted, they underestimated and they did believe the worst, but only because they were too young the first time and too vulnerable the second time. But now they have changed and if they are not the same, surely things can only turn out differently?

I’m determined to go out tonight, but he’s making it so hard. I turn in his arms and face him. He’s impossible to resist. I gasp as his hand slips inside the delicate lace of my underwear and shudder when his finger brushes my clit. I kiss him, slowly, as his fingers enter me. I know we’re not leaving this room tonight, but I keep up the pretence for a minute longer. While I’m lingering around his ear, I whisper what I wish he could do to me if we weren’t going out to dinner. He moans, turned on by my explicit words, so I continue, telling him what I wish I could do to him. Then, what I say to him turns him on so much it almost gets him there.
I whisper. “Oh, screw it. Use me…don’t hold back, take what you need.”
“Oh God, Liv.” He groans as I sink to kneel at his feet.
I take him in my mouth, running my tongue all the way around him to ease my path. He sighs at first but as I move, his sighs become whispers, the whispers become moans. Then as I begin to accept him deeper and deeper, his hands appear, ready to do what I asked. To use me and take what he needs.
He is never rough, but I love it when he takes control. That first night we were together, it happened by accident, but the effect on both of us was amazing, it’s something he knows I love now and he doesn’t feel bad about it. He forces himself into my mouth, over and over again, while my fingers dig into his thighs. My hands give an indication to him of just how much I can take. Occasionally they twitch up, almost at the point of asking him to stop, but I never do. I can take it, but it drives him crazy, thinking I'm on the verge of begging him to stop.
I make that low throaty moan he loves and he gasps.
“Jesus, Liv.” He hisses. “Touch yourself.”
A thrill goes through me and I willingly oblige, sliding my hand under the soft lace of my underwear. He can’t see, but he knows I’m doing it. I moan to let him know I’ve hit home and he seems to lose control at the thought. Focusing hard on his goal, he uses long, slow strokes. I roll my tongue around him every time he almost withdraws and accept him back as deep as possible each time he pushes in. His jagged breaths tell me he’s getting close and my fingers bring a stifled moan from me that seals the deal for him.
“I’m gonna come.” He moans desperately. I simply allow him to use me to get there, I love it when he really lets go “Oh God.” He gasps as his body tenses, then releases into my willing mouth.
He shudders as he finishes. Looking down at me, he laughs.
I’m breathless and weak with need, but I’m happy on this occasion to make that all about him. It’s one in the bank for me later, not that we’re keeping score. Trembling a little, I stand and wipe away the tears he forced from my eyes with his deep thrusting.
“Can we go to dinner now?” I smirk.
“I don’t think you were finished.” He grins, trailing a finger along the fabric of my knickers.
“Later.” I say firmly, moving his hand away.
“No, now!” He demands, lifting me suddenly.
I shriek, “Danny! Put me down!” Which he does, on the bed, with a thump. He yanks my underwear to the side and sucks in my clit, before I know what has happened.
“Oh, God!” I cry as his fingers push inside me.

Author Interview with Kerry Heavens:

1.  What kind of snack/drink is a MUST for you when writing?Tea and Marmite on toast. That’s a very British thing and its one of those things that’s near impossible to explain. If you need clarification

2.  What made you start writing?I always wanted to do it, but didn't know where to start. One day an idea struck and 18 months later, I have two books! A few things in life last year made me realise I had to give it a go as you only live once.

3. What is your biggest inspiration source (where do you get your ideas)People watching is not just a hobby for me, it's a lifestyle choice. In my job, I deal with the public and some of the characters I meet are just begging for storylines. I daydream a lot. Music is my other big source of inspiration. The entire idea for Just Human and Still Human came from one line in a song. But the characters I suppose are just parts of me.

4.  Describe your perfect writing space? and where do you actually write? My perfect writing space is my own office with a large desk and a big comfy chair, with a door I can close. I'd have my music and no sounds of kids TV in the background. It would be decorated with all my special things, like my frames book covers and book related stuff. I would have a big mood board I could stick stuff as I'm writing and I would have bookshelves and ALL my favourite books.

Where I actually write is wedged between the kitchen and living room in our open plan kitchen/living space. At a 1 metre wide desk sitting on an old dining chair, with the TV right behind me, being loud!

5.  Is writing your full time job? If not, what else do you do?I work part time in our family business, which is like a little boutique. We sell gifts and girlie stuff like clothes and bags and jewellery. I have two small children too. But yes, writing, is a full time job. So is self-publishing and so is the social media that you need to get it out there, so that's three full time jobs and a part time job and the family and home that I'm constantly underachieving with. No wonder I'm permanently tired.

6.  What is one surprising fact about you, that not too many people know? That's tough, I'm an over sharer! I suppose I'm something of a super sleuth. If something or someone piques my interest, I just can't stop myself digging up facts. I'm obsessive about having all the information, once I start it's hard to stop. But it isn't always a good thing, some things can't ever be unseen. I've learned that the hard way. There is such a thing as too much information.

7.  What are you writing now? Something I'm really excited about. It doesn't have a title yet, titles are kind of a problem for me. But I can tell you it is totally different from Danny and Liv and it's hot!

8.  What is the first Romance book you remember reading?  What is the last book you read?Fifty Shades Trilogy was the first book I read in this genre. I read all sorts of different books before I got hooked in to where I feel so very at home, but that is pretty much what everyone says right? The last book I read was Wicked Beat. I haven't read as much as I'd like lately...and by that I mean nothing at all for weeks. But I did make time for the last book in the Sinners on tour series, because those boys...SIGH! I am a total Sinners groupie. I will be making some time for Mine, by Katy Evans because I love her. She has been very supportive of me and her writing is fabulous.

9.  Who is your current book boyfriend/crush?So that will have to be Eric Sticks, because he is the most recent bbf I've fallen hard for.

10. What was the last book you read that gave you a "book hangover?"They all do to an extent. I lose myself completely in everything I read. But the book hangover to end all book hangovers has to be from Reckless. I still do the deepest of sighs thinking about it. That book had me pacing the floor on the verge of a heart attack, while it was shut and hiding under my pillow. I read it through the night and could hardly speak the next day. It took me weeks to get over and forget picking up another book. I couldn't let anything push the last of Kellan out of my head. The only way I could get over it was to start Thoughtless again.
