FIGHTING TO STAY by Kasey Millstead: Release Day Review & Giveaway

Release Date: December 15, 2013

“Never stay, Lacey. Promise me. Promise right now, that whenever things go bad in life, you will run. Never, ever stay.”

Lacey Monroe was used to running. When things got bad, when things got dangerous, when there was a chance that she would get hurt – physically or emotionally – she did what her momma said. She ran. She kept running, until she landed in Salt Rock, Alabama. She meets Roam Cooper, the Vice President of the Mayhem Motorcycle Club and for the first time in her life, Lacey considers staying…and then, right before her eyes, her world falls apart. And she runs again.

“No more runnin’, Lacey. ‘Bout time you started fighting to stay.” – Roam.

**This is a stand-alone, full length novel with a happy ever after**

Star Rating: 3.5 stars

Heat Rating: HOT!

Lacey had been taught by life that running is what you do when things get tough, hard or scary, so that is what she does; she runs.  Deciding to go back to her hometown Lacey finds herself falling for Roam and their incredible chemistry, but is that enough for her to stay?

Fighting to Stay is a good biker romance, you get HOT scenes, the gruff alpha males and some of the drama that comes with being in a motorcycle club.  The attraction between Roam and Lacey is instant and turns from down and dirty hook-ups to something more.  I really enjoyed Roam's character, he was gruff but loyal, you could really feel the intense emotions held had for Lacey.  I think everyone would like a little Roam in their life, he had the sexy down pat!  Lacey, drove me batty, however.  Some of her choices were just down right stupid and I wanted to slap her silly, but she is young and was taught to just run instead of stay and get answers.  I would have liked her character to have been more "in-your-face" demanding answers instead of all the assumptions that were made.

Kasey Millstead's Fighting to Stay was a good read with great pacing in her story telling.  I really don't think the prologue was necessary, I felt it told me too much and I kept waiting for that to happen instead of being able to get lost in the story.  I really think the "wow" factor of why events happened could have been more "wow".  I won't say more.. no spoilers.

"Sometimes running isn't the only option.  Sometimes fighting to stay is the right thing to do"

Overall, I enjoyed Fighting to Stay and Kasey Millstead's writing style.  This was the first book I have read by Kasey and I will definitely be on the look out for more of her work in the future.  If you are a fan of the biker romance genre, Fighting to Stay is a good book to add to your read list, 1-click Fighting to Stay for a quick  dirty-hot read and get your hands on Roam.
