STAKING HIS CLAIM (Line of Duty #5) by Tessa Bailey: Review & Giveaway

He wants her. All of her.

NYPD sniper Matt Donovan is in Hell. Instead of driving his best friend’s little sister home from college, he’s stuck with her roommate—a fresh-faced ray-of-sunshine with a body that makes grown men weep. There’s no way he’ll allow himself to taint the little vixen, no matter how hard she tries to tempt him, so he resigns himself to the longest—and hardest—drive of his life.

Matt’s obvious attraction suits grad student Lucy Mason just fine. She had no idea her brother’s best friend was so deliciously hot. Knowing he’d never have his wicked way with his buddy’s sister, she lies about her identity and seduces him. But Matt’s no fumbling college boy. His desires run deep—and dark—and he wants to teach Lucy what wicked really means.

Matt’s demanding appetites only make Lucy want more. But when her cover's blown, he’s furious—even as his hunger for her becomes insatiable. Matt can’t trust anyone, least of all himself. And he knows all too well that darkness always destroys the light…

Tessa Bailey can write one hell of a HOT story!  The Line of Duty series is one I have just discovered and if you like your men with dirty mouths and your women feisty, then this is a great series to pick up!  Even though this is a series you can read each book as a stand alone, I read the first two books and then skipped to this one (I will go back and read books 3 and 4 though) and was able to read through it just fine without feeling like I was missing out on anything.

Staking His Claim takes is a fast paced, quick and very HOT read!  However, what was nice about this book was that even though Matt was into control and a taste of the darker side, he was still very loving and romantic.  I loved Matt's character and only wished we could have had more time to get to know him and his background a bit more, but I will take what we got and be a very happy reader.  Lucy was a fun character and I really enjoyed that she had some spark and pushed back.  The only place I did feel like I should have read Brent's story (her brother from Asking for Trouble) was with Lucy's hang ups about being a nuisance, never really understood her deal with that, but that is a very minor thing.

Staking His Claim is the perfect book to read on a cold night (or during the day) it will warm you up and put a smile on your face!  Tessa Bailey does not disappoint (except that this is the end to this particular series) her alpha men are deliciously dirty, her stories push all the right buttons and readers get the perfect combination of sweet with a dark, spicy center.  If you are looking to heat up your reading then I highly recommend this series!
