Welcome to The Indigo Lounge, the scandalously sexy sky-high playground where anything can happen...Flirty, dirty and utterly delicious, HIGH is the perfect next read for lovers of the internationally renowned This Man series from Jodi Ellen Malpas & Sylvia Day's Crossfire series. Zachary Savage is a man accustomed to getting whatever and whoever he wants. He's buried his demons and risen from the ashes to become the playboy owner of the internationally renowned Indigo Lounge, a fleet of ultra-exclusive sky-high pleasure palaces. He has everything he wants, until he sets eyes on Bethany Green. One look is all it takes ~ she has to be his. Bethany Green has endured the worst year of her life; bad luck and heartbreak at every turn. Karma swings wildly in her favour when a money-can't-buy golden ticket lands in her lap - an invitation to experience the scandalously sexy Indigo Lounge for herself. Green by name and green by nature, is she brave enough to accept the hottest ticket in town? One glimpse of Zachary Savage is enough to convince her that she isn't cosmopolitan enough to play in his glamorous, sinfully sexy world. But they're already in the air, and reality is a long way behind them. The only way is up. The Indigo Lounge. Step aboard and check your inhibitions at the door.
Dropping her bag on the delicate cream console table, she turned to find Zach leaning against the doorjamb. His gaze scoured the room then returned to rest on her.
“So I’ll see you in about an hour?”
He nodded but made no move to leave. The look in his eyes made her throat dry.
“Something on your mind?” she said, noting how husky her voice had grown.
“This is the last time you get a massage from anyone but me, Bethany.”
The possessive throb in his voice made her stomach clench. “Enough with the highly charged words, Zach. For a man who constantly screws me with his eyes, the fact that you haven’t even bothered to kiss me makes me wonder if you’re all talk.”
He jerked upright so fast her breath caught. He took a step forward, then stopped, fists clenched against his thighs. Her senses screamed with the need for him to close the space between them. But he just clamped his gorgeous lips together and shoved a hand through his thick black hair.
Realizing he wasn’t going to come any closer made the insane need to feel his mouth on hers grow stronger. She watched him force control back into his body.
“We met thirty-eight hours and forty-six minutes ago, Bethany Green. I intend to extract a kiss from those bee-stung lips of yours for every minute of that time—when the time is right. I will kiss you till you beg for mercy. Then I’ll kiss you elsewhere, right between your legs. I intend to eat you for hours, until you beg for my cock. And then I will fuck you until you pass out from screaming my name. And if you think those are just words, that I don’t intend to rock your fucking world, then I feel sorry for you. Because the reality will blow your goddamn mind.”
Her mouth was still gaping open after he’d turned on his heel and left. It was only the sound of his door slamming from across the hall that roused her from her stupor.
In a semi-daze, she stared around the room, unfocused and unsteady. She stumbled to the exquisite divan and collapsed into it.
Without a doubt, Zachary Savage had a way with words. And she was discovering her body had developed a unique and heady way of responding to those words. She looked down and cringed when she saw her nipples erect, aching and clearly visible through her top.
“God!” Disgusted with herself, she jumped up and headed for the suite’s bedroom.
By the time the sweet, middle-aged masseuse appeared fifteen minutes later, she’d talked herself down from the raging, sex-depraved stranger she’d become and back to being the normal, sex-deprived woman she was used to.
High wasn't the story I thought I was going to get. I was expecting a story that focused on the Indigo Lounge and ended up barely getting to peek inside this Lounge before the characters moved on to their own side trip. Zara Cox did a great job sucking me into the story from the beginning but once all the crazy hot sex cooled off a bit it didn't leave me with a story that kept my attention. Zach and Bethany had lots of sexual chemistry but I found myself wanting more dialogue, more story (not all the alluding to a mysterious past), less crazy attachment after a handful of days and less drama for the sake of drama. I don't think I will continue with this series, but I will try another Zara Cox book in the future.
If you are in the mood for a HOT read and a whirlwind story full of mysterious "deep dark secrets" that will take you to different parts of the globe the High will fit the bill!

MEET THE AUTHOR:
1. What kind of snack/drink is a MUST for you when writing? The type of drink depends entirely on how well the writing’s going. If it’s going really well, a can of Pepsi Max is almost always at hand. If it’s not going too well, I tend to have wine to hand to, you know, drown my sorrows? Either way there’s ALWAYS chocolate!
2. What made you start writing?
Only a writer can reply “the voices in my head” to this question and not be carted off to a nut house. And I have many, many voices in my head clamoring to have their story told.
3. What is your biggest inspiration source (where do you get your ideas)
My biggest inspiration comes from having a VERY active imagination. And people watching. I see two people walking side by side in the mall or driving by in a car and I immediately try to imagine what their lives are like, if they’re married, how they met, what challenges they face. Add an overly romantic streak and an active imagination and I’m good to go with a gem of an idea for a story. I let the muse do the rest!
4. Describe your perfect writing space? and where do you actually write?
My perfect writing space is unfortunately still in my mind! I’m in the middle of carving out a niche for myself within my home to convert into my dream writing but that hasn’t happened yet. My next answer will tell you why! For now, I write in bed, propped up by comfy pillows ☺
5. Is writing your full time job? If not, what else do you do?
I gave up my full time day job three weeks ago to become a full-time writer (hence my answer above and not having a writing space yet!). I’ve been incredibly blessed to have found steady success with my books so far so I made the decision to give up a salaried job working at a law firm. Eeeek!
6. What is one surprising fact about you, that not too many people know?
Because most of the stories I write are US-based, most of my readers think I’m American. I’m British.
7. What are you writing now?
Right now, I’m writing the book three in the Indigo Lounge Series - SPIRAL - which comes out in June. Can’t wait to hear what readers think of Noah and Leia.
8. What is the first Romance book you remember reading? What is the last book you read?
My first romance was a Harlequin Presents but I forget the author. I still read and adore them. The last book I read was Natural Law by Joey W Hill.
9. Who is your current book boyfriend/crush?
I’m pretty hung up on my own hero Zach Savage from HIGH and HIGHER. I’m finding it very difficult to let go!
10. What was the last book you read that gave you a "book hangover?"
“Thoreau” from Reasonable Doubt has had me chuckling a few times this past week when I think of him. He’s unapologetically alpha and brusque with it (my favorite kind). But hands down the greatest book hangover was Bared To You by Sylvia Day. I couldn’t read another book for weeks!
