Review & Giveaway: THE SEDUCTION GAME by Emma Shortt

The Seduction Game

by: Emma Shortt

An Entangled Indulgence

Release Date: April 14, 2014

When millionaire bad boy, Will Thornton, tries to buy computer-geek Kate Kelly’s building out from under her, she refuses to sell. Will might be uber rich, and super successful but she won’t be bullied. Trouble is, she didn’t expect Will to look like one of her fantasy heroes, or to make her heart beat a little too fast. She’s prepared to wait him out, but it'll take every ounce of her self-control to win this game.

With millions of dollars on the line, Will is positive he can make Kate sell. He’s played the game better than anybody and charming is his middle name. Problem is, the snarky, geeky, computer-wiz is nothing like he imagined—impossibly cute and a match for him in every way.

The game is on but can two such radically different people come out winners in the game of seduction?

The Seduction Game was a quick, quirky and sweet story.  I really enjoyed that the heroine got to be the"geek" in this story, so many of the "geek romances" lately have super hot men as the geeks and Emma Shortt turned this on its head.  I loved seeing the how Kate was awkward and shy and was reluctantly pulled out of her shell by the billionaire Will Thornton.

The story started off slow for and it took awhile for me to find my rhythm with the pacing, then when Will and Kate finally stopped bickering with one another and started seeing each other it was an enjoyable read.  The ending (though very cute) came on fast and I felt rushed reading it, I wanted more chapters to see how everything smooths out.  This is a novella length story, but I would have liked to see this fleshed out into more a full length novel so we can really get to know Kate and Will, not just surface stuff.

Emma Shortt's writing was fun to read and I like the witty banter and snarky dialogue.  The geeky references made me snicker and made my own geeky heart smile, but my issues with some of the plot lines and the pacing kept me from really connecting.

If you are the mood for a cute, slightly predictable, romance about a die hard geek falling for a billionaire then The Seduction Game would be a great book to 1-click!
