**Guest Post: Embarrassing Moments From Jill Shalvis' THEN CAME YOU & Giveaway**

Release Date: July 1, 2014

Embarrassing Moments From Jill Shalvis' THEN CAME YOU

Emily Stevens from Then Came You is a woman who knows what she wants — to finish her veterinary training and build a successful career. But instead of treating pampered poodles at a Los Angeles practice, Emily finds herself in Sunshine, Idaho delivering farm animals (without even getting to change out of her power suit!)

Emily prides herself on her discipline, intelligence, and common sense, yet all of these desert her the moment she gets to Sunshine. In fact, everywhere she turns she finds herself in some seriously awkward situations. Here’s a taste of a few of the cringeworthy scenes Emily stumbles into…

Embarrassment With A Side Of Sexy

Wyatt took another long, careful look at Emily and Wyatt’s mouth went grim.
He could join her club. This was the stuff nightmares were made of. Going to school in your Spiderman pj’s. Giving a public speech naked.
And discovering you’d accidentally slept with your boss.

Embarrassment With A Side of Exaggeration

“Listen, regarding my … boyfriend.” Oh boy. Emily squirmed some more. “The truth is, the relationship is sort of …” Non existent. “Silent.”

“Yeah. Like the K on knight. Actually, to be honest, it’s more of an implied thing.”

Wyatt was looking amused again. “As in made up?”

She sighed.

And he laughed. “You’re a nut.”

Yes. Yes, she was. A complete nut.  “Let’s go back to ignoring each other,” she said a little desperately.  “Can we?”

“Absolutely,” he said.  “I’m good at ignoring nuts.”

She sighed again.

Embarrassment With A Side Of Rejection

“Is it just me?” Emily asked softly into Wyatt’s silence, knowing she shouldn’t.  “I’m the only one struggling here?”

He looked at her for a long moment, but didn’t respond to that either.  Instead, he dropped some cash on the table, stood up, and pulled her with him.

Mr. Professional.

She should appreciate the effort.  She should replicate his effort.  “Where are we going now?”

“Home,” he said, taking her back to his truck, opening her passenger door for her.  “To bed.”

She went still and took assessment of how she felt about this. Her girlie parts were on board.  Standing so close to him between the truck and his big, warm, strong body, she gave in.  “Okay, good.  Maybe just one more time—

“In our own beds,” he said.

“Oh.”  She blew out a breath.  Nodded.  “I knew that.”

Veterinary intern Emily can’t believe she wound up in the small town of Sunshine, Idaho, instead of the Los Angeles clinic she had always imagined. Now she has to put her plans to move to L.A. on hold for a whole year while she fulfills the obligation of her vet school scholarship.

Then Wyatt, her gorgeous one-night stand from a Reno vet conference, introduces himself as her new boss. And Emily is just as drawn to his seductive looks and quiet strength as she was on that very steamy night. She soon learns that Wyatt isn’t just a laid-back doctor, but a delicious alpha male tempting her away from her carefully laid-out plans...

*Release Day Blitz Giveaway* GRACE FOR DROWNING by Maya Cross

A Contemporary Fighter Romance

Hope is a dangerous thing. I know that more than most. Everything good I've ever had has been stolen from me — my friends, my fiancĂ©, my innocence, some would say even my sanity. All I have left is the cage. Fighting is the only thing that eases the ache inside me even a little. It’s the only thing that keeps the bottle at bay.

I was content to ride out my life alone. I was done dreaming that things could be better. But then I met Grace, and suddenly, all I could do was dream.

She's battling those same demons, only she's losing. I don’t want to care, but something about her calls to me. That pain in her eyes is so sharp, so familiar. I know it’s only a matter of time before it pulls her below the surface.

I can help her, and maybe, just maybe, she can help me too. For the first time in what feels like forever, I’ve got hope, and that scares the hell out of me.

This is a full length novel with no cliffhanger. There will be a sequel, but this book resolves all the story elements by the end. It is written with dual perspectives, so both Logan and Grace get their say.

I gave a tiny shake of my head. It felt like a big gesture, one that should have set the earth shaking and the sky falling, but it was strangely liberating at the same time. A moment of clarity in an ocean of confusion. I wanted him. I couldn’t deny that anymore. I wanted everything those absent words implied. His hands on my body, his lips on mine. I knew that given a few days, a few hours, maybe even a few minutes, my pain and self-loathing would resurface and start sabotaging this again, but right now, in that moment, I was free of that.

Before I could talk myself out of it, I lunged towards him. He was so tall that I had to stretch up onto my toes, wrapping my hands around his neck to pull his mouth down to mine. It sent a powerful longing through me, that height, that sheer bulk. I normally hate to be reminded how diminutive I am, but I liked how small he made me feel. There was something strangely comforting about it.

His body stiffened and he mumbled a curse against my lips. For a moment, he barely moved. I could feel the war playing out behind his eyes. But then the fight drained out of him, and his arms enveloped me as he began kissing me back with an urgency strong enough to be almost frightening. Part of me expected it to feel wrong, a betrayal of everything I’d had with Tom, but instead my body simply melted against his like it had always been there, and all other thoughts disappeared.

All my other first kisses had been timid affairs, but this was something else entirely, fierce and hungry; an explosion of everything that was simmering inside us. Though I’d initiated it, Logan quickly seized control. This wasn’t a man who simply stood by and had things happen to him. Leather-rough palms ran amok across my back and shoulders, pulling me against him as though he was afraid I’d be snatched away at any moment. I moaned involuntarily into his mouth as his tongue darted and teased. In some distant part of me I felt ashamed, but it was dwarfed by the fire that was coursing through my veins. I’d never been kissed like that before. Not by Tom. Not by anybody. It felt like a matter of need rather than want. Life or death.

I’d seen him shirtless plenty of times of course, but the sight was different now. Erotic, sensual, and above all, mine. I could barely breathe for how magnificent he looked. Sculpted and tanned and lit with moonlight; a living breathing Greek statue. I wanted to touch all of him, to feel each inch between my fingers, in my mouth, in every part of me. I’d never been so intoxicated by another human being.

My hands took on a mind of their own, dancing hungrily across his bare chest. His muscles were so hard, like his entire body was just skin stretched over stone sculpture. Everything inside me seemed to clench as my fingers took it all in, the perfectly defined grooves between his pecs and his abs, the mountainous curl of his biceps. He was still slick with sweat and hot from the night’s exertion, but that only excited me more. Images played through my head of him in the arena, his body a perfect primal machine leveling all of that power at his opposition.

My lack of control seemed to trigger something in Logan. He reached for my shirt, tugging it over my head, and then his hands turned ravenous, squeezing my breasts, my ass, the curve of my hips. It felt like his fingers were everywhere at once, and my body tingled and burned in response. It was so good to be touched again. I hadn’t realized how long it had been or how much I missed it, but there was something exquisite about it — a tactile euphoria that kept me centered in that perfect moment and scattered all my problems to the wind.

He broke away, breathing heavily, his face twisted into some bizarre combination of pain and desire. Pressing his forehead against mine he locked eyes with me. “Are you sure?” His voice was low, the primordial growl of a man who was just below the cusp where words were no longer relevant.

“I’m sure.”

Maya Cross is a writer who enjoys making people blush. Growing up with a mother who worked in a book store, she read a lot from a very young age, and soon enough picked up a pen of her own. She’s tried her hands at a whole variety of genres including horror, science fiction, and fantasy, but funnily enough, it was the sexy stuff that stuck. She has now started this pen name as an outlet for her spicier thoughts (they were starting to overflow). She likes her heroes strong but mysterious, her encounters sizzling, and her characters true to life.

She believes in writing familiar narratives told with a twist, so most of her stories will feel comfortable, but hopefully a little unique. Whatever genre she's writing, finding a fascinating concept is the first, and most important step.

The Alpha Group is her first attempt at erotic romance.

When she's not writing, she's playing tennis, trawling her home town of Sydney for new inspiration, and drinking too much coffee.

**Review & Giveaway** WHAT DOESN'T DESTROY US (The Devil's Dust #1) by M.N. Forgy

When Dani's sheltered life is turned upside down by her mother's secrets, she finds protection with her estranged outlaw father. Against all warnings, she falls for bad boy biker, Shadow. He is beast and beauty sealed in a leather cut with a gun holster. Can Dani learn to live within the Club rules? Is she more like her father than she could imagine?

Shadow has grown up among drug addicts, whores and murderers. The only family he's ever trusted has been the Devil's Dust motorcycle club. He will do anything for a brother; even kill. In fact, killing is so easy, he's made a career of it. His one regret is not being able to kill his own worthless mother. When Dani shows up with her provocative temper and innocent charm, Shadow begins to question his violent lifestyle. But can he trust her with his demons?
Will Dani and Shadow let family ties destroy them?

M.N. Forgy's debut novel What Doesn't Destroy Us is a MC club story that shows a more gritty and "real" side in a biker romance.  The Devil Dust MC is a club that doesn't shy away from murder, drugs or guns and Shadow is the Sargent At Arms in the club and up until he meets Dani he deals with his dark side by killing for hire.  Dani is a sheltered innocent that suddenly has her life turned upside down when she discovers where she really belongs.

What Doesn't Destroy Us was an interesting take on a MC story with a few twists and turns I NEVER saw coming.  M.N. Forgy was able to take two characters that seem to be complete opposites and mesh them together in a way that makes sense (while heating up your Kindle).  I enjoyed getting to know the cast of characters that make up The Devil's Dust MC and hope to get to dive deeper into these personalities in books to come, especially Shadow.

What Doesn't Destroy Us is a start to a new series and the ending will leave you shocked and confused (maybe a bit mad too).  I didn't see the direction M.N. Forgy was going to take this book and while I applaud the twist I am still trying to wrap my head around the last 20%.  If you are a fan of MC biker books then M.N. Forgy is a new voice in a genre that you should try.  I will keep my eye out for the next book in the series since I need to know how this puzzle is going to get solved.

M.N. Forgy was raised in Missouri where she still lives with her family. She's a soccer mom by day and a saucy writer by night. M.N. Forgy started writing at a young age but never took it seriously until years later, as a stay-at-home mom, she opened her laptop and started writing again. As a role model for her children, she felt she couldn't live with the "what if" anymore and finally took a chance on her character's story. So, with her glass of wine in hand and a stray Barbie sharing her seat, she continues to create and please her fans

**Teaser Tour Giveaway** An Exclusive Excerpt from THE CAPTIVE (Captive Hearts #1) by Grace Burrowes

He'll never be free...

Captured and tortured by the French, Christian Severn, Duke of Mercia, survives by vowing to take revenge on his tormentors. Before the duke can pursue his version of justice, Gillian, Countess of Greendale, reminds him that his small daughter has suffered much in his absence, and needs her papa desperately.

Until he surrenders his heart...

Gilly endured her difficult marriage by avoiding confrontation and keeping peace at any cost. Christian's devotion to his daughter and his kindness toward Gilly give her hope that she could enjoy a future with him, for surely he of all men shares her loathing for violence in any form. Little does Gilly know, the battle for Christian's heart is only beginning.

“What are your long-term plans, my lady? I ask both as Lucy’s papa and as the husband of your late cousin.” “My plans?” Gilly’s bread and butter turned to sawdust in her mouth when she saw the considering light in His Grace’s eyes. He’d ambushed her, the wretch, out here in the sunshine and beauty of a perfect summer’s day. Next Mercia would explain, politely, that he needed privacy with his daughter, and an extraneous cousin-in-law on the premises must needs be a temporary imposition. Well, damn him. Damn him and his elegant, scarred hands and his beautiful, soft voice and his lovely eyes and his kindness toward the child. Damn him for all of it. And especially for kissing her. Those gentle, nearly chaste kisses had been so…so… Gilly had lost sleep trying to describe Mercia’s kisses. One word kept careening into her awareness, no matter how stoutly she batted it away. Mercia’s kisses had been cherishing, as if Gilly were the reason he lived, the reason he’d bested demons and nightmares to return to her side. Which was balderdash. He’d meandered home from Carlton House through the park, and she was pathetic to make so much of a small late-night lapse between two tired adults. He regarded her now with an expression so far from cherishing that Gilly’s food sat uneasily in her belly. “We’ve only just arrived at Severn, Your Grace. Must we discuss plans and arrangements now?” “We must.” He picked up one of the sections of orange and held it out to her. “Please.” Please eat, or please reveal her hopes and fears, as manifest in the next year’s residential particulars? His blue eyes held an odd light, and Gilly abruptly wished she had the protection of her black silk shawl, for all the afternoon was pleasant. She took the orange section from him and popped it into her mouth. Across from her, the duke screwed up his thin lipped, elegant mouth in a grimace of impatience. “For the near term, you will stay here, my lady. We are agreed on that for the child’s sake. I’d like you to consider making your home with us permanently, though. You are in mourning, and I certainly intend to live quietly. You know this household, and I have no hostess, no lady to see to the maids and the housekeeper.” He had no one to see to him, as far as Gilly could tell, which apparently mattered to him not at all.

**Author Interview & Giveaway** LIFE IN A RUT LOVE NOT INCLUDED by J.D Hollyfield

Having it all isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

When Sarah Sullivan’s perfect life blows up in front of her, she finds herself crawling back to the one place she never saw herself returning: Home.

At thirty-one, Sarah had it all. Perfect job, perfect boyfriend, perfect life. When all that is taken away from her, she is left heartbroken and angry and desperate enough to let her life swallow her whole…for a while.

Fending off love and the pursuit of happiness completely, Sarah vows to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. She creates a list of goals for herself—starting with a much needed shower—and constructs a plan to dig herself out of her rut. What she doesn’t plan for is meeting the arrogant new employee her parents have hired to work on an addition to their home. Enter Jack Calloway, the handsome, charming, lickable foreman with an insatiable effect on Sarah’s girly parts.

Jack accepts the job, but gets more than he bargained for. Unable to ignore his racing hormones—and calm his temper—over the obnoxious woman who clouds his judgment, Jack pulls her in and steals her heart until she finally surrenders. But is he up for the challenge of picking up the pieces of Sarah’s broken heart? Can he carry her out of her rut?

I begin to move some boxes around, only to break the bottom of one open and have all my things dump to the floor. “Seriously?” I hiss. I kick another box, and it of course domino effects and takes out a crate full of tools. This is just great. I’m bent over to assess the damage, when I hear stomping feet approach.
“What the hell are you doing?!”
I turn to see him quickly walking toward me, jaw locked and wearing an impressively angry look.
“Listen, it was an accident,” I growl out and dip down in an attempt to pick up his tools.
“Don’t touch my equipment!” He swats my hand away and bends down to place his scattered tools back into the overturned crate.
“Listen buddy, it was an accident. Maybe you should find another place to store your junk!”
“Junk, huh?!”
“Yeah, junk—” As I try to finish spitting out my sentence, he bends over and picks up a pair of my shiny stilettos. Dangling my Jimmy Choos over my head, he then proceeds to throw them across the garage.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I scream.
“Oh don’t worry, sweetheart. I'm just helping you make room for my ‘junk’!”
“Oh no you didn’t!” I get right in his face. He follows suit which brings us nose to nose, ready to face off. His eyes are flaming orbs and I can feel his breath hitting my cheeks.
“You’re going to regret this,” I hiss.
“You have no idea.” In record speed, he raises his hand and throws it behind my neck, then he grabs my head and slams his mouth on mine. I have been pondering the feel of his mouth pressed against mine for days, but it’s nothing like the real thing. Too shocked, I don’t know whether to fight him off or wrap my arms around his neck to deepen the kiss. Before I can find out, he releases me.

“Don’t touch the equipment,” he says, out of breath, and walks out of the garage.

Author Interview:

1.  What kind of snack/drink is a MUST for you when writing? A must have would be a nice glass of wine and M&Ms.

2. What made you start writing? The love for a good story and my obsession with reading romance novels.  Eventually I created my own sexy male hero in my head, saving the flawed heroine, and my story began.  With a little push and some quite time I put my dream scenario on paper.

3. Describe your perfect writing space? and where do you actually write? My perfect writing space is in my loft, with a nice glass of wine next to me, listening to my Ingrid Michaelson Pandora station, and no interruptions.

4. Is writing your full time job? If not, what else do you doI wish. To be able to write love stories all day… By day I am a College Counselor, along with I own and run a Creative Design shop in my spare time.

5. What is one surprising fact about you that not too many people know? I am a complete night owl! I do not require much sleep and enjoy one on one time with myself, and those moments often come when all is tucked in bed. I am wide eyed until 2am and up and ready for the day by 7am!

6. What are you writing now? I am very excited about what I am working on at the moment.  I am dipping into romantic suspense next and look forward to introducing Ava and Devon towards the end of the year!

7. What is the first Romance book you remember reading? What is the last book you read? My first Romantic genre book was Linda Howard’s Cry No More. Such an emotional story and I’ll admit, I cried like a baby.  The last book I just finished was Up from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. Such a great ending to a very awesome series.

8. Who is your current book boyfriend/crush? This question actually took me the longest to answer! To have to pick out one individual character to commit to is tough! Ok so here it goes! I will have to say my current book boyfriend would be… Kellen Kyle from Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens, *Sigh* or James Cavendish from Up in the Air series by R.K. Lilley. Great series, Hot male Hero!

9. What was the last book you read that gave you a "book hangover?" Hands down, Consequences by Aleatha Romig. For anyone who has taken the plunge into Consequences Series, knows what I am talking about. What a ride.

**Review & Giveaway** SWEET ADDICTION by J. Daniels

Wedding hookups never amount to anything.

Those who partake in this wicked little activity know the rules. Get in. Get laid. Get out. There's no expectation of a relationship. It is what it is.

Dylan Sparks knows the rules. She’s familiar with the protocol. And she engages in the best sex of her life with a complete stranger at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding.

Reese Carroll doesn’t care about the rules. He wants more than just one night with Dylan. And he’s too addicting to pass up.

Sweet Addiction is the story of one girl’s struggle to keep things casual, and one boy’s desire to never let her go.

Do I Wanna Know?  by The Arctic Monkeys
Look After You  by The Fray

Sweet Addiction is my new addiction!  I (enter curse word here) LOVED this book! J. Daniel's hit a home run with this story and I need more from Dylan, Reese and the rest of the gang.  Sweet Addiction is funny, smart, sexy and romantic, what more can you ask for?  I closed this book last night and instantly emailed J. Daniels begging for more of these characters, I really could have read many more chapters about Reese (and Dylan too of course).

Sweet Addiction takes the "casual fling" to a whole new level of fun and I haven't laughed out loud like this since my first reading of Wallbanger.  I can't pin point what made this book so special, it  just hit all the right notes of fun, witty, engaging and addictive.  J. Daniels created characters that seemed very real and personable that at times I felt like I was in the bakery with Joey and Dylan (maybe that was just wishful thinking, but I would be friends with these characters in an instant).  Dylan was a strong, smart and independent character that was so nice to read about, she knew what she wanted and didn't fall into the trap of being a pushover, she was mouthy and had sass (I loved it).  Reese was the perfect balance for Dylan, he follows Dylan's silly rules while wooing her with romantic notes and gifts (swoon!).  Reese is my new book boyfriend and he will MELT you!  J. Daniels made accountants HOT and I might just need to go to Chicago for tax time next year!

Sweet Addiction was just plain fun to read, I laughed out loud, got goosebumps, had to get a fan and shed a tear or two along the way. J. Daniels created the perfect book to get lost in (especially during wedding season), the pacing, dialogue and sexiness will catch your attention from the first page and keep you up past your bedtime to see how it all plays out.  I NEED more Dylan and Reese and I will definitely be on the look out for ANY future books from J. Daniels in the future (one book and I am a fangirl)!

If you want a great romance that will have you laughing, sighing and steaming up your Kindle then go 1-click Sweet Addiction (it is only $0.99 at the time of this post, so what are you waiting for?)

J. Daniels was born and raised in Maryland.
After putting her kids to bed, she escapes into her cheeky world where some of her characters kiss, and some of them do a lot more than kiss.

She is an avid reader and enjoys everything from unconventional romance to fantasy novels.
