**Blog Tour Review, Prologue Excerpt & Giveaway** ALL I WANT (Alabama Summer #2) by J. Daniels

Luke Evans is a heartbreaker.

I didn’t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept me out.

He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth.

I would’ve fallen in love with him at a distance.

Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing I’ve ever done. I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the same things I did.

I try to hate him. I try to forget him.

But it’s not that easy.

Love is a ruthless bitch, and I’m her latest victim.

Tessa Kelly is a man-eater.

When she sets her sights on you, she doesn’t just consume your heart, she goes for your soul.

What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever want.

But she destroyed it.

She destroyed us.

I try to hate her. I try to forget her.

But it’s not that easy.

Love is for people who have hope, and I have none.

Two months ago

Jesus. Fuck, no.
There are absolutely zero good-looking men at this thing. Besides Reed, who disappeared an hour ago with some giggly brunette, and the man I refuse to acknowledge. Weddings are supposed to be a breeding ground for nameless hook-ups, and I’m shit out of luck at this one. So instead of getting drilled in a concealed corner somewhere, my dress bunched around my waist as a stranger becomes familiar with my sounds, I’m having to find other ways to pass the time.
Eat cake.
Hit up the open bar.
Eat more cake.
Dance with Nolan.
Get cake with Nolan.
Steal Mia away from Ben.
Watch Mia get carried off by Ben.
And now this.
Sitting at an empty table, watching as Ben, Mia, and Nolan all slow dance together. Nolan’s in between them, rubbing Mia’s growing baby bump, while Ben can’t seem to keep his eyes off his new wife. I’m crazy happy for them, but right now, I can’t watch them share another perfect family moment in front of me. I need a break from this. Just a few minutes to get some air.
I step out of the tent and head across the lawn toward the Estate House. I’m walking aimlessly, not having any destination in mind. I just need to get away from all the love for a second. Love is great when you’re with someone. It’s better when it’s reciprocated. But it fucking sucks when that shit is one-sided.
And that’s the only way I’ve known it.
I walk down the side of the building and turn right to go around the back. As soon as I round the corner, I see him.
He’s leaning against the building behind some shrubs, head back, eyes closed, lips slightly parted. His sandy-brown hair is cut shorter than normal, almost buzzed completely, and it does really annoying things to his face. Like show it off more. Those ridiculously gorgeous features of his are on display for my eyes right now, and I don’t have to avert my gaze because he doesn’t know I’m watching. He has no idea I’m staring at his sharp, angular cheekbones, the fullness of his mouth, or the bump at the bridge of his nose that I see as this perfect imperfection.
God, I fucking love that bump.
His face tenses as his arms move to the front of his body, and I let my eyes roam to the reason for this change.
The blonde I recognize from the wedding is on her knees with his cock lodged in her mouth, deep throating it until she gags. His hands are in her hair, encouraging her, pulling her closer until she practically swallows him whole. I lift my eyes to that face I was just secretly admiring seconds ago. It’s no longer tempting me to keep my presence unknown. Because there’s no way in hell I’m going to let this shit happen right now.
Fuck him, and his face.
I step in front of the bush and make a fist, clearing my throat into it. Luke’s eyes shoot open and he grabs the blonde’s head, sliding her off his cock. She releases it with a pop and a grunt of disappointment. Apparently, she isn’t finished. But she looks pretty fucking finished to me.
Luke tucks himself away quickly. “What the fuck, Tessa? What are you doing?”
I look from him to the blonde. “Oh, sweetie. You might want to go disinfect. He’s got the herp.”
Slutty blonde parts her lips as if she’s waiting for another cock. She stands and wipes her mouth with the back of her hand, glaring in Luke’s direction. “Oh my God. Are you serious? You have herpes?”
Luke’s wide eyes train on mine. “What? No I don’t!”
“He’s really sweet about it though,” I say, looking sympathetically at the blonde. “He pays for my Valtrex every month.” I turn my eyes to Luke, letting out a swooning sigh. “So romantic.”
Blonde shoves against Luke’s chest. “You’re disgusting.”
“I don’t have fucking herpes!” Luke adamantly vows as he tightens his belt.
I watch, basking in my victory as blonde trudges through the grass, getting her heel caught in the process. She stumbles a bit, glares at Luke over her shoulder, and disappears around the corner.
“I can’t fucking believe you just did that,” Luke says, prompting me to whip my head around to look at him. He buttons his suit jacket up and steps closer. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
What happened between us.
And the fact that you’ve obviously moved on without any difficulty.
I close the gap and he freezes, his hand flattening against his jacket. My gaze flicks from his crotch to his face, and I mask all the hurt of seeing this asshole with another woman behind the fakest smile I’ve ever worn.
“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with me. You, on the other hand, might want to go to the clinic. If you didn’t have an STD before that whore touched you, I’m sure you have one now.”
I turn and storm away before he can give me a comeback. But more importantly, before he can see the smile fading from my lips.

It is not a secret that I love J. Daniels and now I love Luke almost as much!  All I Want is the second book in the Alabama Summer series and while it can be read as a stand alone, I think if you read Where I Belong first, you will understand a lot more of this story (since you meet Luke and Tessa in book one).  All I Want was a book I couldn't wait to read, I was tempted daily by this book sitting in my Kindle for almost a week before I could get my grabby hands on it (being an adult stinks at times).  Boy, am I glad today was a sleep in day, because I ate this book up in one delicious bite and then was up half the night thinking about Luke and Tessa.

J. Daniels has a very unique voice in her writing, it is direct and a bit crude but it is highly engaging and entertaining.  Her words are like chips you can't stop until you have consumed them all!  Tessa is a brash, bold woman that wants (and expects) her partners to give themselves openly to her.  I respect that she knows what she wants and refuses to settle.  Tessa should be unlikeable with her ball busting ways, but we really get to know her in this book and we realize that she is more than her surface, she is vulnerable and wants what we all want; love.  Luke is a completely hot and addicting puzzle that left me aching for him.  He has a lot of baggage to drag around and doesn't want to feel what he feels, he is a master at ignoring and lashing out.  However, Luke isn't the jerk we are lead to believe (via Tessa), he has a soft underbelly that will make you want to love him yourself.

My love for J. Daniels writing is known (if you follow my blog you've read my fan-girl reviews) but it is really her characters in this book that blew me away.  She can take two characters and make them hate each other, yet crave each other in a way that makes you want to lock them in a room until they either kill each other or set the place on fire with their chemistry.  Luke and Tessa aren't your typical couple, they are stubborn and resistant to what is right in front of their face, but they will get under your skin and give you goosebumps from the heat and emotional havoc they endure.

I really enjoyed All I Want and there will be some parts of this book that will stick with me for a while.  Yes, it did get a bit angsty and the back and forth almost drove me to drink, but it was worth the journey for the way it all unfolded.  I laughed out loud, groaned in frustration, misted up from these characters breaking my heart and sighed in contentment when it was all done.  I can't wait to get my hands on Reed's story and check in with this cast of characters in the future (and I am curious about Mason too).

If you have never read a book from J. Daniels, you are in for a delicious, snarky, foul-mouthed treat!  If you are a fan of her work, like I am, then this is a no-brainer 1-click All I Want and read it instantly.  J. Daniels continues to be one of my favorite new authors and if you want to know how I truly feel, Tessa said it best, "ask me today".

**Review & Giveaway** SAVING POUGHKEEPSIE (Poughkeepsie #3) by Debra Anastasia

Beckett Taylor’s quest to be a better man has brought Eve Hartt back into his life, but sometimes it feels like they’re bound together with barbed wire. Though he longs to love her without causing pain, the wreckage of their past continues to crash down around them.

Yet with the help of this brothers—and for his brothers—Beckett won’t stop trying. He’s determined to make them all a family, to make a life they want to live, and to make Poughkeepsie a place that’s safe to live it.

He can feel their futures balanced precariously on his shoulders: Blake and Livia and their children, Cole and Kyle and the new baby they’ve just brought home, and Eve…always Eve. He wants their dreams to be real. But murderers don’t just get Happily Ever After handed to them. They have to wrench it away from Satan himself.

Good thing Beckett is prepared to do just that. After all, saving Poughkeepsie is the only way his story ends.

Prepare your heart and your head for a wild ride in this final installment of the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series. Debra Anastasia does not disappoint as she weaves the last chapter of a story that blends true love, turbulent emotions, and life’s harsh realities into an uplifting tale that calls to the good in each of us.

“I’m not worried about tomorrow. I’m worried about right now, with you, under this Christmas tree.” Blake supported her neck as he laid her on the floor.
Livia turned her head. “You’d better convince me. So far you’ve talked about the dog going to the bathroom, trash, and dirtiness.”
Blake kissed her jaw and turned her head gently, kissing her mouth as she bit her lips together.
“Can’t I just convince you with my manly ways?” He wiggled his eyebrows.
He could, of course, do just that—but she shook her head. She loved the playful sparkle in his green eyes. His five o’clock shadow just made him more handsome, framing his kissable lips with scruff.
“Okay.” He put his fingers at the bottom of her shirt, lifting it gently so he could circle her belly button with his index finger. “You’re the sexiest, most beautiful woman on this planet. So sexy, in fact, that I had to have you. I had to make you bear my children because my universe and yours had to be combined. Everything I’ve ever been needed to be buried inside of you, so deep, so full of love that we created life. Twice.”
He lifted her shirt and kissed the tops of her breasts, whispering his devotion into her skin. “And it’s never enough. Unless I can hear you coming, I can’t think of anything else. All day every day. For years now. You’re that powerful, Livia. This. Us. It’s so intense that years haven’t cured me. I can’t stop wanting to make love to you.”
“Wow.” Livia smiled and pulled his face back to hers, kissing him and effectively stopping his beautiful words.

Saving Poughkeepsie absolutely cannot be read as a stand alone.  I insist that you read the series as it was intended, as a series.  All the books build off one another over a span of years starting with Poughkeepsie, the heartbreakingly wonderful story of Blake, and turns into this epic saga that gives you depth, heart, brotherhood and hope.  This is a tough review to write, so I am going to try my best to talk about the power of Debra Anastasia's writing, not the content that could spoil those who have yet to meet Blake on the train platform in Poughkeepsie.

Debra Anastasia writes stories that push your boundaries, her words move you and the characters become a part of the reader.  I read Poughkeepsie last year and not a day goes by that I don't think about Blake when I see someone smile.  This series is not your typical series where every book, a specific character gets there story told.  The Poughkeepsie series spans the lives of three men (brothers by choice) as they find their way in the world and reach out for the things they have always craved; family, love and loyalty.

Saving Poughkeepsie was a book I was not expecting.  First, I was surprised we were getting more to this series, I thought Return to Poughkeepsie was the final book.  I am glad that I was wrong and Debra Anastasia proved with Saving Poughkeepsie she had more (a LOT more) story to share with us.  These characters go through such transformations during this series and the most surprising change was in Beckett.  I tolerated Beckett in book one, I really liked him in book two, but I fell in a little bit of love with Beckett in this final book.  Beckett was the character you never want to like, but you put up with because he is entertaining and valuable to other characters in this series.  However, watching him grow and become the man that he was always meant to be was a fantastic journey that will make you want to go all the back to book one and see if you missed his true self all along.

Debra Anastasia broke me a few times in this series, the strength of emotions she can pull from her readers is a talent I am in awe of.  I cried tears of helplessness, heartache, joy and of hope while reading Saving Poughkeepsie.  I was taken on a journey I did not expect, it that was full of love, violence, hope and salvation.  This story will stick with me for a long time and I will never look at a piano, a train platform or knitting without thinking of this fabulous series.

If you have been reading the Poughkeepsie series then this is a book you are going to want to read, even though you think these characters have told their story, there is still so much more you are going to learn.  If you have never read this series, I am jealous.  You will get to meet and discover this trio of men that change what brotherhood truly means.  You MUST read Poughkeepsie... and then in turn Saving Poughkeepsie.  Give yourself the gift of this fabulous series by 1-clicking!

Debra Anastasia you fucking blew my mind (again).  I can't wait to see what your mind/heart/creative genius comes up with next!

HTCB Teaser 2

Marz was playing with fire. He damn well knew he was. But that didn’t make him want to pull away.
He just wanted more of the heat.
Marz nuzzled the side of Emilie’s face with his nose, his lips. She turned her face toward him and offered her lips. He couldn’t refuse.
Capturing her mouth on a tortured groan, Marz poured every ounce of his longing and confusion and desire into the kiss. They grasped at each other and Emilie turned in his arms. He pinned her against the railing and planted his hands in her hair. She opened to him and accepted his tongue, sucking him in until Marz’s blood ran hot and his hard-on ached. He ground himself against her and devoured every little moan and whimper and gasp she spilled.
Trailing kisses from her mouth to her jaw to her ear, Marz dragged a hand down her body and grasped her breast in his palm. She cried out and her head dropped back, drawing his mouth to her neck, where he licked and sucked and nipped as he kneaded her soft flesh. “You are so damn sexy.”
Her hand flew to his hair and grasped the back of his head. “Touch me,” she said. “Don’t stop touching me.”
Marz pulled away long enough to do a three-sixty scan. The lighthouse cast a dark shadow over them, and the pier was otherwise empty. His heart raced and his pulse hammered. He dove back in, trailing kisses down her neck to her collarbone, which he traced with his tongue. Her nails scratched deliciously at his scalp and her grip urged him down.
Through the thin material of her blouse and bra, he mouthed and flicked at her nipple. He shifted the deep vee of the neckline to reveal a lacy royal blue bra. He tongued her through the lace until she was panting and moaning and writhing against the railing.
“Oh, my God,” she rasped as he shifted her shirt and moved to her other breast. This time, he tugged the lace down to bare the deep pink of her nipple. She tasted and smelled like something fruity and sweet, and it made Marz hunger for more. “Derek,” she gasped. “Yes, yes, yes.”
Her palm cupped and squeezed the bulge of his erection through his jeans. His hips jerked into the touch, craving more of her, all of her. He groaned and it seemed to egg her on, because she pressed and rubbed her hand against his trapped cock until he was panting and imagining taking her down to the ground.
“Jesus, Emilie, you’re driving me fucking crazy,” he said as he worked kisses back up her body to her mouth.
“I know just what you mean,” she said. Her molten hot gaze met his. Eyes hooded, lips shiny and swollen, cheeks flushed, she was a freaking goddess standing under the moonlit sky. He felt the force of her beauty every bit as much in his chest as in his cock.
“You sure about that, babe?” he asked as he took her mouth in a deep, wet kiss. “Because my imagination has me stripping you of those fuck-hot jeans.”
“Yeah?” She rubbed his cock in a long stroke with the heel of her hand. “Mine has us getting a room at the hotel back there. So I’m sure,” she said with a smile.
Marz’s heart hammered against his breastbone and his cock jerked, clearly liking her idea, too. Except, if he took her up on it, he was going to end up buried inside her for as long as she’d have him. And so long as this clusterfuck of a situation defined their relationship, he couldn’t take things that far. Could he?

HTCB Teaser 1

I have been a fan of the Hard Ink series from the very first book, Hard as It Gets, and even though I love the other boys, Marz just stole my heart!  Hard to Come By is (as of now) my favorite book in this series, but if you haven't read this series yet, I would suggest you try and read these in order first.  Laura Kaye does an excellent job catching readers up with overloading them with details so you could read this as a stand alone book, but my opinion would be to at least read Hard as It Gets to really get the sense of the series before diving into Marz and Emilie's story.

Laura Kaye is creating such an engaging and fascinating journey with this series.  The characters all have gone through so much and are back together to clear their names, but things aren't as straight forward or as simple as that.  The Hard Ink boys are uncovering things that are embroiling them in a deeper mess and while they are uncovering more mysteries they each are finding their own piece of happiness in each book.  Derek Marz has attracted my attention from book one and I am so glad his story delivered not only a great addition to the series but an emotional and heart-melting story.

Hard to Come By was so much better than I was expecting, usually by the fourth book (I'm counting Easy's novella a book) in a series the storyline is getting stale or frustrating, but with this series that is definitely not the case.  Laura Kaye is crafting a story that is spanning all the books that is just as intriguing and addicting as it was in book one.  I am dying to figure out how this will all play out after the way this book closes (no spoilers, but it was an interesting twist).  This series is well written and even though each book focuses on a separate man, the overall arc of the storyline continues seamlessly throughout each book, so reading these all together gives you the sense of reading one long book instead of separate stories.

Hard to Come By gives us more in-depth understanding of Marz.  Derek Marz is the computer guy in the group an has always been the happy-go-lucky guy in the group.  I loved getting to know his character and watching him interact with his "brothers" and Emilie.  He is definitely the strong, vulnerable character that I swoon over.  All he has ever wanted was to belong to someone and be a part of a family and reading his and Emilie's journey gave me goosebumps several times.  Laura Kaye writes great men, but she really wrote a great character in Emilie.  Emilie was in a situation she didn't truly understand and proved time and time again that she was stronger than she thought and was the perfect match for Marz. Laura Kaye's storytelling keeps getting richer and her characters are puzzles I can't wait to solve.  (Waiting for Beckett's story is going to be hard)

If you have been reading the Hard Ink series then you are going to love the continuation of this story and getting to know Marz.  If you have yet to read this wonderful series do yourself a favor and pick up Hard as It Gets and meet these men of Hard Ink.  This is definitely a great book to indulge in this Thanksgiving week, just don't read and cook (you might burn something)!

**Release Day Review & Giveaway** BRAYDON (Alluring Indulgence #6) by Nicole Edwards

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nicole Edwards comes the sixth searing adventure in her Alluring Indulgence erotic romance series, which follows the seven Walker brothers and their sizzling-hot love interests!

Braydon Walker has always shared everything with his identical twin brother Brendon—hopes, dreams, career choices, and yes, even women. Known for tag-teaming their love interests in every way imaginable, Braydon is surprised and unnerved when he finds himself wanting to keep their newest lover all to himself. Will the twins’ relationship evolve to fit this new mold, or will Braydon’s desire for independence tear them apart?

I love a Nicole Edwards book!  Pick up any book by Nicole Edwards and you are getting a hot sexy story, great characters and intense connections.  Braydon is a story I have been waiting for since meeting the Walker brothers back in book #1 (Kaleb).  I have read some of the seven books in the Alluring Indulgence series, but to be transparent I have not read them all (trust me, I will be reading them all soon).  In this series I read Kaleb and then jumped to Braydon, but having been a fan of Nicole Edwards I knew I could read this book out of order and still get a complete story that I felt completely engaged in.  Yes, if you read out of order (like I did) you will get a few spoilers from the previous books, but nothing that would make going back to read these books unenjoyable.

Braydon and Brendon were an interesting pair.  These twins are used to doing everything together, meaning they shared everything, and then they start realizing that they want different things.  Nicole Edwards took what I thought was going to be a typical menage story and turned it upside down.  I really enjoyed reading about the struggles Braydon, Jessie and Brendon went through in Braydon, it gives a realistic take on what happens when three people enter a relationship based on sex and then decide they want more, but with only two.  The emotional struggles and brotherly connections tested in Braydon was outstanding.  Nicole Edwards has a way of tapping into her male characters to make them strong yet vulnerable, controlling yet not overbearing and I want to gobble up every Walker in this series!

Nicole Edwards is great a creating a series that intertwines the lives of all her characters so naturally that even though you are reading about one set of characters, you really get all her past characters to enrich the story too.  Braydon was a great book that really took me by surprise, yes, this book was hot and about how you take a relationship of three down to two, but the depth of emotion and the struggles between the brothers really stood out.  I already loved Braydon and Brendon but now I love them more (and I can't wait for Brendon's story).  Nicole Edwards gives you a lot to think about in this story and takes the sibling relationship to a new level.

If you are a fan of Nicole Edwards Alluring Indulgence series (or even her Club Destiny series) you will enjoy Braydon, and getting to see what the Walkers are up to.  If you have never read a Nicole Edwards book, you are in for a treat!  This touching, rich story is a great book about what you do when we the threesomes stop and the fallout of moving forward.  Grab a glass of ice water and 1-click Braydon tonight!
